Adult Dance at AOD!
ITS'S TIME FOR YOU!
COME GET YOUR GROOVE ON WITH US HERE AT AOD! FIVE REASONS TO DANCE!
1. It's an amazing workout of course for your body, but it's a mental workout too! If you want to keep your brain sharp, dance will do it. Learning combos and choreography forces your brain to make all kinds of new connections, and so does working your legs and your arms while moving around in space.
2.) Adult dance classes relieve stress and provide self care! It's almost impossible to keep negative or anxious thoughts in your head when you're totally focused on learning to move your body in new and challenging ways. It is "me time". Self care is tough, but if you sign up for a season of adult dance, self care gets built into your schedule. And when you dance, you're doing something just for you!
3.) Dancing means always learning something new! How often do we adults get a chance to learn new skills just for the heck of it? Not often enough! It feels good to learn new things or to get better at something.
4.) Dance classes can spark a connection! You will meet new people that could lead to new outlets of advice, sharing, exploring and even friendships!
5) You'll love your body more! In the dance studio your body will prove itself worthy of love and pride. IIt's not about jumping high or tapping fast, but rather about seeing what your body is capable with fresh eyes.
Adult Tap: Our tap class is taught by resident teacher and former Broadway dancer George "Mo Leggs" Patterson. The class is a beginner/intermediate tap class focusing on Broadway style tap techniques. Class consists of a warm-up, center floor work, and stringing together beginner traveling tap exercises. Throughout the year, students will learn to link together various beginner level tap moves to create choreography.No previous dance experience required. May or may not be a recital class.
